ACT College Admission Test
Standardized testing is an important part of college admissions. Students should take time to plan and prepare for these tests, as well as know what scores are needed before they apply to college. Many students make the mistake of waiting until the fall of their senior year, when college applications are due, to take the ACT for the first time. To ensure success, students should consider following the testing schedule below:
Registration opens Monday, August 3.
To register for the ACT, please visit the websites below. Please note that deadlines to register are usually one month prior to the testing date.
Fee Waivers: If eligible, your ACT registration costs can be completely FREE!! If you receive free/reduced lunch or believe you may be eligible for a fee waiver.
IMPORTANT: When you register for the ACT, you receive 4 free score reports to send to schools, but this opportunity will expire after you take the test, so don't wait! Take advantage, even if you aren't sure where you're going to apply.
The ACT test is
the best opportunity
to show colleges across the country who you are and what you know.
JUNIORS: Taking the ACT in the spring is a great way to jumpstart the college admission process. This will give you plenty of time to rest before taking the test again in the fall. Some schools with "super score" the SAT/ACT, meaning they will take the best "subject" scores from each test and give you a higher score.
SENIORS: Taking the ACT in early fall ensures that your scores are available in plenty of time to meet college and university early decision and early action application deadlines. Keep in mind that test locations FILL UP, so do not wait until the last minute to register.
