East Baton Rouge Parish School Board has approved a policy for all elementary school students, including Pre-K and K, to use a “standard uniform.” Under the School Board policy, the uniform for elementary school students is:
Navy blue bottoms (pants, shorts, skirts, skorts, jumpers, not more than 2" above the knee), no jeans, biking shorts, stretch pants, or sweatpants.
Kinder - 5th grade - Burgundy shirts/blouses with a collar (turtlenecks are acceptable in winter) (No t-shirts).
Pre-K Students must wear Navy Blue Shirt & Navy Blue Bottoms
Solid navy blue or Black sweatshirts are allowed in the classrooms. No other colors may be worn over shirts. NO LOGOS or writing. Any coat may be worn to school and home but not in the classrooms.
Athletic shoes/sneakers with socks must be worn daily (no sandals, flip-flops, boots, slippers, crocs, slides, etc.)
Belts can be worn at the natural waist on bottoms with belt loops; shirts and blouses will be tucked in.
Only stud earrings may be worn
Too much jewelry that the administration and/or teachers deem unsafe or disruptive to the classroom environment.
No hoop or dangling earrings or necklaces
No fake or sculpted nails are allowed
NO HOODIES - Only navy or black sweatshirts with no logo or the Riveroaks logo are allowed. Students will be asked to remove any other outerwear while in the classroom.
All student backpacks must be Clear. (Pre-K through 5th grade students)
Only small purses are permitted but must be kept in backpacks until needed.
