That's probably all you need to know, but you don't have to take my word for it! Below you will see a few pictures of me and my family followed by some information about where I went to school to earn my degrees. A little further down, you will find screen grabs of student answers to questions I ask at the end of every school year. Some of their answers are silly; some are fun; some are serious, but they are all TRUE (even the ones that are not too flattering).
I'm a mom. My husband and I have one wild child. He is 11 years old, and he is lots of fun!
I love to watch the Braves (If you are not a Braves fan, keep it to yourself. Ha!).
I love creating crafts, and I appreciate all art forms.
I believe that kindness is the most important quality a person can have.
I'm a Louisiana Girl! I have lived in a couple of other places, but my heart brought me back to my home state!
Ms. Frizzle 🏫
This was my Halloween costume from a couple of years ago. If you don't know who Ms. Frizzle is, we can't be friends. (Just kidding, but you should Google her.)
My son and I 🥰️
This was an exciting day! This is an older picture, but it is still an amazing memory. We met Dav Pilkey, the author of Captain Underpants and Dog Man. My son LOVES his books. 📚
Family Time ❤️️
Some of my SMAMS teacher pals.
These are my favorite socks.
(I'm serious. I have 4 pair.)
That's my husband. This pretty much sums us up. We are both, generally, ridiculous.
We are serious about reading.
I earned my first degree, a bachelor of science with a minor in journalism from Northwestern State University.
Yes, parents, I know that my choices for coursework don't match. I have no excuses for myself. I was very indecisive as an undergrad. Ha!
I earned my teaching certification from Nicholls State University.
I earned my masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction in Reading from Grand Canyon University, and I am now a Reading Specialist.
Shortly after becoming certified to teach, I did additional coursework in literature studies at Loyola. I did not complete a degree from this university. I just needed to brush up on my skills.
The comments you will see below are a little older; however, you will be able to view last year's student comments when I post them in Google Classroom.
