Mr. Berthelot (Mr. B)

Mr. B is often easier to pronounce than Mr. Berthelot so I answer to that, but either is fine.

It's also a tribute to my grandmother, Maw-Maw B.

biography

Greetings 2nd Grade families and welcome to the new Jefferson Terrace Academy! This is my fourth year at Jefferson Terrace having previously taught Pre-K at SLU Head Start for three years and worked with both Livingston Parish and Tangipahoa Parish Public School Systems. In addition, I am currently a 5th Grade Catechism teacher in Denham Springs. Prior to teaching, I was in broadcasting for several years as Program Director at WJBO/WFMF and at the LSU Sports Radio Network, as well as spending time as a computer programmer. I love old movies, reading most anything, The Beatles, jazz, pizza, coffee, and teaching. I ADORE music and you will often hear soothing, be-bop sounds in my classroom. I am always eager to help my students and their families, so please reach out with any questions or concerns you may have. I am a certified special education teacher and elementary education as well. I have extensive studies in education, early childhood development, computer science, British and Epic literature, theology, and history. I co-chair the Immaculate Conception Church's fall festival in Denham Springs and I counsel parents recovering from addiction for the non-profit support group Redstick Cares.
