Eligibility Requirements for Tuition Assistance and Reimbursement:
Certified classroom teachers that are required to obtain out-of-Field (OFAT) certification
Existing English as a Second Language (ESL) personnel that are required to obtain ESL certification
All full-time participants must be employed during the entire school semester for which assistance is sought
Employees on sabbatical leave are not eligible for Teacher Tuition Assistance/Reimbursement
Separated employees: courses must be completed during your time of employment
Participants must attend an accredited undergraduate institution, receive passing grades of C or higher, and attain college credits
A maximum of six (6) credits will be allotted per semester for each fiscal year (July 1st- June 6th)
As of July 1, 2016, Summer courses are ineligible for Tuition Assistance/Reimbursement
Tuition Assistance/Reimbursement is applicable only to the prescribed courses listed on the certification plan of study
Incomplete courses or withdrawal from courses are the responsibility of the participant
The amount paid by the school district for a private College/University, which must be approved by the State, shall not exceed the highest tuition charged by a College/University in the State
Tuition Assistance/Reimbursement covers only “pure tuition” fees
Procedures for Tuition Assistance and Tuition Reimbursement:
Tuition Assistance
Before registering, contact the Office of Human Resources to ensure that your coursework is eligible for Tuition Reimbursement.
Using the Tuition Assistance/Reimbursement Google Form link, complete the Tuition Assistance/Reimbursement application.
Submit the application at least five days prior to the start of the semester.
A list will be sent to the University so that the applicant’s account is credited. University policy may differ on how and when this credit is posted to the account.
Tuition Reimbursement
Before registering, contact the Office of Human Resources to ensure that your coursework is eligible for Tuition Reimbursement.
Upon HR approval, register for the coursework and pay all fees required.
After the completion of the coursework, use the Tuition Assistance/Reimbursement Google Form link to complete the Tuition Assistance/Reimbursement application.
Include the following:
A grade report that reflects a passing grade of C or higher
University receipts
Proof of payment to the university (bank/credit card statement or money order receipt that also reflects the participant’s name and address)
Praxis Reimbursement and Tuition Assistance/Reimbursement do not guarantee continued employment, new job assignments, pay increases, or promotions.
