ATTENDANCE
COOK SCHOOL
What's Cooking?
Team Dove finished making their Libum Roman Sweet Bread this week. Well done to everyone in Team Dove for making such wonderful Sweet Bread - they would have thrived in Roman times!
Team Foss have also attended Cook School and they have been making a Sweet Cheesecake which is very similar to the Libum Bread but looks more like a cake. They have also learnt how to make a typical Roman Salad and thoroughly enjoyed using a pestle and mortar (known as a Mortarium in Roman times). Team Foss will continue to attend Cook School next week.

ROCK YOUR SOCKS - WORLD DOWN SYNDROME DAY
Down syndrome is a condition in which a person has an extra chromosome. 1 in 800 children are born with down syndrome. As many of you may know Jonah in Team Aire has Down syndrome and we would love to raise awareness of his condition. Jonah is very well-loved throughout school and it is important for everyone to have an awareness of what Down Syndrome is.
World Down Syndrome day is celebrated on the 21st of March each year. This is because it highlights the uniqueness of the 21st chromosome being split into 3 (trisomy). The day supports individuals in having their own voice and enabling them to be included.
To raise awareness of Down Syndrome people wear odd socks on World Down Syndrome day and to show your support, we invite you to send your children to school with odd socks on Thursday 21st March.
EASTER BONNET
Friday 22nd March
Children can come to school with their bonnets and can take them straight into their classroom.
You are then invited to come into school at the following times to see the children parade with their bonnet and watch the prizes be given out for the winning bonnets.
1:30 EYFS
2:00 KS2
2:30 KS1
If the weather is looking promising we will ask parents to stand on the inside of the playground and children walk round the daily mile line to parade them.
KS1 WORKSHOP
On Monday 8th April, we have an exciting KS1 workshop for the full morning which will be delivered by DanTastic Education.
Next half terms topic focuses on 'how Britain has changed since the 1960s' and we have organised a really engaging and exciting 1960s workshop.
The team at DanTastic will be coming in to work with all the KS1 children and we are really looking forward to it!
We are asking for a voluntary contribution of £6.50 per child and payment can be made via ParentPay.
