Good afternoon,
Thank you to the parents that attended the Community reading cafe. It was lovely to continue raising the profile of reading in school and dedicate some time to this. We have been so impressed by their biographies in English and we are looking forward to what they write about an influential person of their choice.
Coming up next week:
English: the children will be continuing to write biographies based on civil rights champions independently
Maths: Year 5 - the children will be looking at scaling linked to multiplication and then multiplying and dividing by 10,100 and 1000.
Year 6 - will be looking at area of rectangles, triangles and parallelograms.
Curriculum: next week we will be looking at when the Ancient Greeks lived and key events in their history.
Science: the children will be exploring what reversible and irreversible changes are.
PSHE: Year 5 - Children will be exploring the effects of alcohol in PSHE
Year 6 - children will be learning about taking medication responsibly and the risks around drugs
Homework:
Reading: the children will be expected to read a minimum of 3 times a week, ideally to a grown up.
Spelling: the children need to complete at least 5 spelling games per week.
Maths: the children will have a task set on My Maths.
Children are expected to access TT Rockstars a minimum of 3 times a week.
Thank you for your continued support,
Kind regards,
The UKS2 Team
