Good afternoon,
The children have had a brilliant week learning about influential people linked to racial discrimination. We have enjoyed it so much that we will continue this within our English. It was lovely to end the week with our World Book day and performing a poem with EYFS.
Coming up next week:
English: the children will be continuing to write biographies based on civil rights champions.
Maths: Year 5 - the children will be looking at scaling linked to multiplication
Year 6 - will be looking at the place value of decimal, multiplying and dividing with decimal numbers and adding and subtracting with decimals.
Curriculum: next week will be our the start of our new topic on Who were the original Olympians linked to the Ancient Greeks. We will focus on where Greece is and compare this to Olympia.
Science: the children will be exploring what reversible and irreversible changes are.
PSHE: Year 5 - Children will be exploring Whatsapp and appropriate conversations online and offline.
Year 6 - children will be learning about taking medication responsibly and the risks around drugs
Homework:
Reading: the children will be expected to read a minimum of 3 times a week, ideally to a grown up.
Spelling: the children need to complete at least 5 spelling games per week.
Maths: the children will have a task set on My Maths.
Children are expected to access TT Rockstars a minimum of 3 times a week.
Thank you for your continued support,
Kind regards,
