Team calder (year 5)

Good afternoon, 

A busy week as usual in UKS2, a highlight was the Diversity role models session with Lindsay. 

Coming up next week: 

English: the children will be writing a persuasive letter about Electronic waste

Maths: Year 5 - the children will be starting their next unit on division. 

Year 6 - will be looking at fractions: comparing fractions and equivalence

Curriculum: Our new topic is ‘How is the world connected?’. This week we will focus on what journey our trade resources go on. 

 PSHE: Year 5 - we will be looking at jobs and careers linked to our dreams and goals PSHE unit. 

Year 6 - we will be looking at social media, with a focus on how online messaging can make people feel.

Homework:

Reading: the children will be expected to read a minimum of 3 times a week, ideally to a grown up. 

Spelling: the children need to complete at least 5 spelling games per week. 

Maths: the children will have a task set on My Maths.

Children are expected to access TT Rockstars a minimum of 3 times a week.
