Good afternoon,
Merry Christmas from everyone in the Reception Team! We hope you and the children have a relaxing and enjoyable Christmas holidays.
This is what we will be looking at during the first week in January in English and Maths. The children will also continue to do daily phonics lessons and guided reading.
English - In English we will be learning about Winter and also looking at the North Pole. The children will learn about what the weather is like in the North Pole and we will then think about what the weather is like where we live in Winter.
Maths - We will be looking at subitising and using the book Ten Black Dots to help us with this.
PE sessions will happen on a Monday every week. The children can come in PE kits on this day.
The children will not be given a new guided reading book this week. They will be given a new book on Friday 10th January.
We have done Little Wandle phonics assessments this week to assess the children's learning from this half term. When we return in January we would love to share with you the next steps for your child's reading journey.
Please see below the parent overview for our Spring 1 topic.
We hope you have a lovely break.
