WEEKLY NEWSLETTER
Friday 21st June 2024
Dear Families,
It was so lovely to see so many of you with us for our annual Summer Fair today. The sun shining was a wonderful bonus!
Thank you to so many people for joining us for our KS1 and KS2 Sports Day yesterday. It was such a great atmosphere hearing everyone cheering along. We will announce the winners next week in our assembly.
Next week is the school production. On Tuesday and Wednesday evening at 5:30pm, children from Teams Foss, Calder and Humber will be performing Peter Pan. They have put so much hard work into this, it would be wonderful to see so many people supporting them. Tickets are available via www.parentpay.com
Thank you all for your commitment and support for all of our school events, we couldn't do them without you!
Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Winter

What's Cooking?
I have been working with children from Team Nidd this week and we have been making Gingerbread People! The children have learnt about hygiene and safety and have had a chance to use a rolling pin and cutters. They have had the opportunity to experience art works with a food focus and decorated some fantastic gingerbread people.
They did have the option of bringing the decorated people home but chose to eat them in Cook School (yum yum). They did bring their own bakes home though and I hope you have enjoyed them.
Whilst eating their biscuits, they listened to the story of the Gingerbread Man and enjoyed discussing their thoughts on the story. They decided that they wanted a happier ending for the Gingerbread Man so he didn't get eaten after all! They then had the opportunity to further develop their colouring skills and designed their very own Gingerbread Person. Well done Team Nidd, you all did a fantastic job in Cook School. I will continue to work with the rest of Team Nidd next week.
Team Foss also visited Cook School this week to assist with decorating the cupcakes for the School Fayre which is on Friday 21st June. They also made some rice crispy cakes. Thank you to Team Foss, your cakes looked amazing! Another big thank you to Team Humber who baked the cakes in preparation for them to be iced. You managed to bake 150 cakes so well done! I am sure they will sell really well at the School Fayre.
