Good afternoon,
Team Humber enjoyed our learn through week. They have shown great empathy and chosen ways in which they would like to make a difference in the world.
Next week:
Next week we will have our final set of assessments before the children reach their SATs week in May. Please continue to remind the children that there is still content they haven’t covered and that it is just so that staff in school know how to support them.
English: we will be starting a diary entry based on a refugees journey.
Maths: we will be learning how to calculate the mean average.
Curriculum: we will be starting our new unit of learning called 'What makes a home?'. The children will be learning about why people migrate.
Science: the children will be starting their unit on electricity and will be using symbols to represent a simple circuit in a diagram
PSHE: we will be looking at reasons why people may display bullying behaviour and how to deal with this.
P.E is on Tuesday and Friday. Children need to come dressed in PE kit for the whole day. Children need to wear a pair of plain black or navy blue jogging bottoms or shorts, a plain white t-shirt and a plain black or navy blue hoodie. Children need to wear suitable shoes for PE (trainers or plimsolls).
Homework will be set this week.
Reading: The children will be expected to read a minimum of 3 times a week, ideally to a grown-up. This needs to be recorded in their reading records.
Spelling: The children will be expected to play a minimum of 5 games of the set spelling rule on EdShed.
Maths: The children will have a task set on My Maths.
Children are expected to access TTRockstars a minimum of 3 times a week.
Thank you for your continued support,
Mrs Danbury
