Team HUMBER (year 6)

Good afternoon, 

What a wonderful week we have had exploring our new topic further and learning about biomes. Next week we are looking forward to Diversity Role Models coming in (Please see additional parenthub regarding this). 

Coming up next week: 

English 

The children will be writing information texts based on Fairtrade chocolate. 

Maths

• Year 5 - the children will multiplying by 2 and 3 digit numbers, using a formal method 

• Year 6 - will be looking at fractions: finding a fraction of a number. 

Curriculum

Our new topic is ‘How is the world connected?’. This week we will be looking at where in the world we trade with. 

PSHE

• Year 5 - we will be looking at when I grow up linked to our dreams and goals PSHE unit. 

• Year 6 - we will be looking at social media, with a focus on how online messaging can make people feel.

Homework

Reading: the children will be expected to read a minimum of 3 times a week, ideally to a grown up. 

Spelling: the children need to complete at least 5 spelling games per week. 

Maths: the children will have a task set on My Maths.

Children are expected to access TT Rockstars a minimum of 3 times a week.
