Recycling Protect
We do not recycle at our school. Our plan is to make a recycling program in our school. Jayden, Lainey, and Ivy-Moon are using old boxes that the school throws away and are turning them into recycling bins for our school to use. We will put them in all the rooms for everybody to use. The maintenance personnel will pick them up and drive it to the Independence County Recycling Center drop off in Magness. This might be a small action, but we think it will make a big difference. We will work with Mrs. Magness and the Cedar Ridge School District maintenance staff. Jaidyn, Lainey and Ivy-Moon worked together by using each other’s suggestions. The hardware we used is a computer, mini- camera, and a Card Reader. The software we used was Photoshop and Google docs. We learned that a small action can help the whole world.
There is a lot of dog waste at the Newark City Park. The dog waste stand will help our park stay clean. Alyson and Ashley want to make sure people won’t step in dog poop. With this project we plan to make everyone feel like their environment is clean. Our solution is to put dog waste stand in the Newark Park. We will get local businesses to sponsor the dog waste stands. We will gets 4 stand to install in the park. We have coordinated with the Mayor of Newark, Bryan Barber, and the helpers of the Newark Park. The technology we have used so far is Nikon camera, computers, and Apple Mac. The different software we used were Photoshop, Google Slides, and TinkerCad. We will make a big difference in the Newark Park, because this project will make a difference in our community. As Alyson and Ashley once said, “We want to inspire others to help make their community park better, and we hope to make an impact on everyone!”
It’s important to recognize our School Board Members for the support they have provided to our school. Our EAST program created a video to express the students’ appreciation during School Board Appreciation Month. We coordinated with teachers and students to video them saying, “thank you” to the school board members. The students learned to work together and learned how to work under pressure with the time-crunch that was laid upon them. Jaden, Tyler, and Taylor worked together and used a Canon video camera, green screen, and FinalCut Pro. We made sure our school board members felt like they were important.
The student’s parents have not got to know to much about their child’s teachers because Covid 19 has kept them from meeting the teachers. So we interviewed and videoed teachers and staff members. Then uploaded the videos on our YouTube account to let parents learn more about the teachers at Cedar Ridge Schools. Now more kids and parents know about their teachers, and can learn better. Aspen, Kambri, and Aubree worked on the “This Is Your Life” project. They used a Cannon Video Camera to record the videos. The different software they used was Movie Maker for editing. Parents will be able to learn about their kids teachers by going on our YouTube account.
Cedar Ridge Elementary School is a Leader ln Me school. A lot of kids at our school don’t know what the Seven Habits are. All of the EAST kids in our school have made many Leader In Me videos and posters to teach them about the Seven Habits. We are working with Mrs. Craig, The Leader ln Me Coordinator, the vice principal, Mr. Craig, and the Lighthouse Team. The Lighthouse team is filled with students and teachers who have cooperated with us to make sure the Seven Habits are in everyone’s mind. All the software used for this project were Publisher, Movie Maker, FinalCut Pro, and Google. For this project we use a lot of hard ware like the Z5600 Plotter, laminator, iPad, Computers, and the video camera. All EAST kids learned more about the Seven Habits. Because of this project we can now teach it to you.
