30 Book Challenge

Challenge:

Your challenge is to read 30 books during your 5th grade year.  The goal is to read many different genres (mystery, biography, historical fiction, etc.) and types of books (award winning, picture book, etc.).  The 15 books you are required to read during the school year count toward your challenge.  

Assignment:

Read a type of book found on the chart below.  After you finish reading a book, complete the assignment on Google Classroom (Note: 15 of these will be required during the school year).  

Choosing the Right Book:

Use the strategies you have learned to pick a Just Right Book.  Your book should be an appropriate level.  You should feel comfortable reading it and can talk about it easily.  It shouldn't be so easy you breeze through it without much thought.  It shouldn't be so challenging you don't remember anything you have read or don't understand the topic.
