Meet mrs. ortega

meet the teacher!

My name is Mrs. Ortega and I am so excited to be your child's teacher for the 2025-2026 school year! As a teacher, I strive to teach the whole child and to provide students with an environment that nurtures their development as they reach toward their potentials. I will provide a positive, productive, and safe space for my students to take risks that will help them succeed!

This is my sixth year teaching in East Penn School District. Prior to this year, I have taught both first and second grade. I also completed my student teaching placement in Kindergarten at Lincoln Elementary. I graduated from Kutztown University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, PreK - 4. I also graduated with a certification in ESL (English as a Second Language).

I graduated from Clemson University in December of 2022 with an M.Ed. in Teaching and Learning with a concentration in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math).

When I am not at school, I enjoy cooking & baking, watching sports, reading, and going to the lake with family and friends. I have been going to Lake Wallenpaupack since I was very young. At the lake, I enjoy boating, tubing, swimming, kayaking, and hiking. I am excited to share more of my experiences with you in the classroom throughout the school year!

With summer coming to an end, I look forward to an amazing year ahead of us! Let us work together to help your child learn and grow this school year. I am dedicated to teaching and learning. I am committed to the success and achievements of my students. The passion I have for teaching motivates and inspires me to do better and be better for all my students to come!
