My name is Jennifer Thomas, and I have been a teacher in the East Penn School District for 27 years. I started my career as a special education teacher. I taught in the autistic classroom at Lower Macungie Middle School for 4 years. Then, I went to Macungie Elementary where I worked as a learning support teacher for 4 years and then I have spent the last 19 years teaching fourth grade regular education. Now, I am looking to my fourth year as a fourth grade teacher at Wescosville Elementary! I feel that having taught in many special and regular education classrooms has been a real benefit to me. I enjoy teaching all subject areas, but math is my favorite!
I was born in Walnutport, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Northampton High School in 1994. In December of 1998, I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Special Education and Elementary Education from Kutztown University, where I played college softball. I earned my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and my principal certification from Lehigh University.
My husband, Greg, and I have 2 beautiful daughters named Sophia and Olivia. Sophia is starting college at Penn State University, and Olivia is starting 12th grade in the fall. We have 2 dogs named Baxter (a Shorkie) and Ryder (a Border Collie). Also, we have two cats named Sky and Navi, and a horse named Jay. We live on our family farm in Walnutport, Pennsylvania! In my free time, I love to read (I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan!), go shopping, and spend time with my family! We love watching movies and Modern Family, making smores during our campfires, and going on vacation! I am really excited to be your teacher this year! I know we will have a fabulous time together!
