Students will have a daily snack. Please feel free to send in a daily (NUT-FREE) snack, but try to keep it healthy! Also, if your child brings in a snack item that requires a spoon, please try to send in a spoon for them to use.
The classrooms in Willow Lane are nut-free. If your child brings in a snack that has nuts or peanut butter, I will have to ask him or her to put it away for the wellness of all of our students. We also certainly don't want anyone to be hungry! Some nut-free snacks include:
Fresh fruits (apples, oranges, banana, grapes, watermelon, cantaloupe, pear, kiwi, blueberries, etc.)
Fresh vegetables (carrots, celery, broccoli florets, bell pepper strips, cherry tomatoes)
Crackers (Wheat Thins, plain Triscuits, Goldfish)
Yogurt cup (*read the label and be aware of yogurts that also contain watch out for granola or cookies)
Out Sick
If your child is out sick, please send in a note, send a See Saw message or a personal email indicating that he or she is sick and also email both of the secretaries in the main office letting them know as well. The office is keeping a strict count of the number of student absences, more so than in years past. I will forward any emails or notes to the front office letting them know that your child is sick. Don't be surprised if you hear from the office asking for a note if one was not sent in.
Furthermore, if your child is out sick, I will gather their missed assignments for them. You can choose to either: a) Send the work home with a buddy, b) Send the work to the office to be picked up, or c) Keep the work in school to be completed upon your child's return to school. Some days get extremely busy when several students are out sick, so I always do the best I can to get it all together. My apologies if the work doesn't end up coming home that day.
The secretaries in the main office are:
Kelly Ross - Kross@eastpennsd.org
Christina Gehman - Cgehman@eastpennsd.org
Vacation Time
If your family is going away on a vacation, please fill out the vacation form on the district website and send it in as soon as you can. Dr. Moyer typically looks at it right away, and Ms. Gehmen in the office will send you an email when it is approved or another decision has been made.
Stay tuned for more information!
We love celebrating birthdays in room 210! We celebrate on the day or as close to the day as we can. Due to potential allergies we are unable to pass out birthday treats that may contain nuts at this time. If you'd like to send in a birthday treat, please be sure to send in one of the approved items below. We will be sure to sing and make sure your child feels special on their big day!
