Educational Background
I earned my undergraduate from Kutztown University with a dual degree in Education (Mentally & Physically Handicapped and Elementary Education). I continued my education to achieve my Masters in Special Education from Lehigh University.
Teaching Background
Hello, I am one of the 6th-grade Learning Support teachers at LMMS. Currently, I am going into my 26th year of teaching; the last 28 have been with the East Penn School District.
Before teaching at LMMS, I taught 5 years inside the Northern Lehigh School District (Slatington Elementary School) where I was part of the following:
Taught 3rd and 4th Grade Learning Support
Elementary Department Chairperson for Social Studies
Assisted in writing Social Studies and Science curriculum
Assisted with computer data inputting during annual “Running of the Dawgs” races
Taught in the Elementary Summer Reading Program
Before teaching at Northern Lehigh, I worked for the Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit #21. I spent two years with their Middle (@ Salisbury Middle School) and Elementary Level (@ Gockley Elementary School) Emotional Support-Partial Programs.
Personal Background
I am married and have 3 wonderful children: Zachary is a graduate of Emmaus High School and is stationed at Homestead Air Force Base in Florida. Makenzie is in her first year at Duquesne University, ran XC for Emmaus, and volunteers at the Sanctuary at Haafsville with me. Izabella is my youngest. She has my love of soccer, outdoors, and animals. We have three rescues, a hound from Tennessee named Smoky, a cat named Maui, and our most recently rescued pit/lab mix named Harley.
In my spare time outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, being outdoors, and working with animals at the Sanctuary.
