Meet Mrs. Lausch!
Welcome to first grade at Wescosville Elementary School! I am so excited to be your child's teacher! Teaching young learners is my passion, and I feel grateful that I get to do what I love each and every day! My goal as an educator is to create a warm and welcoming environment as well as a classroom of lifelong learners who develop respectful relationships within the classroom and school community.
First grade will be a year of incredible growth for your child filled with multi-sensory, collaborative, and cooperative learning! We will focus not only on academic achievement, but also emotional, behavioral, and social development. The skills we practice daily in first grade are the building blocks for your child's future success in school and in life.
I feel very blessed to be embarking on my 22nd year of teaching elementary students! This is my 8th year teaching in the outstanding East Penn School District! Prior to that I taught for 14 wonderful years at Farmersville Elementary in the Bethlehem Area School District.
I knew that I wanted to become a teacher when I was 7 years old! This happened after watching my mom, who was an elementary school teacher, do her nightly planning, grading, and communicating with families. Helping her set up her classroom was always my end-of-summer highlight :-) She loved teaching, and I knew that I would too!
I graduated in 2000 from Emmaus High School, 2004 from Moravian College with a B.S. in Psychology and Certification in Elementary Education, and in 2008 from Kutztown University with my Master’s of Education Degree in Reading as well as my Reading Specialist Certificate.
Some activities I enjoy outside of school include: cheering on our daughters at their countless sporting events, going for walks with my husband and our dogs, exercising, reading, drawing, painting, shopping, and doing handstands (and I've been known to do handstands in the classroom as a reward for reaching a class-wide goal!)
I look forward to getting to know you and your child! I believe that home-school communication is critical to student success. Please feel free to contact me with questions or just to connect.
