STEELS Science
STEELS Science is our new Science curriculum. Pennsylvania's STEELS (Science, Technology & Engineering, and Environmental Literacy & Sustainability) standards reshape K-12 science education by moving away from rote memorization and toward three-dimensional, phenomena-driven sense making.
HMH Into Reading
This year our class is fortunate enough to pilot a new ELA curriculum, HMH Into Reading. I am excited to explore this together.
Ready Math
Ready Mathematics (often tied with i-Ready Classroom Mathematics) is a K–8 core and supplemental math program by Curriculum Associates. It uses problem-based instruction, student discourse, and hands-on tools to build deep conceptual understanding.
Heggerty
The curriculum is designed to provide systematic & engaging lessons in 8-12 mins a day. Strong Phonemic Awareness is Crucial to Reading Success.
I&E ELA/Math
Every day your child will receive 30 minutes of intervention or enrichment. Students will be placed after universal screenings occur.
Social Studies
Students will develop civic responsibility as well as an appreciation and understanding of basic human needs, cultural diversity, and an interdependence of the world community. The program is based on history as the unifying discipline and will include designated strands of geography, people, economics, contemporary issues, and political science. Critical thinking skills will be developed along with problem-solving techniques designed to help students resolve conflict.
Fundations
Wilson Fundations is a structured, multisensory phonics, spelling, and handwriting program for grades K–5. Rooted in the science of reading, it uses explicit, cumulative instruction to build foundational literacy, prevent reading difficulties, and support general education or intervention classrooms.
