For over 25 years, I have been an educator.  I have worn several hats as an ELA teacher, a Reading Specialist, a staff developer/instructional coach, and a K-12 curriculum supervisor. Within this journey, I was very fortunate to be named a Pennsylvania Teacher of the Year finalist in 2011.  I also am a National Writing Project Fellow and a former Associate for The EdCollab. 

  As you might be able to tell, I love to teach and love to learn. In fact, my most recent accomplishment was earning my dissertation.

  I am also a proud Penn Stater and, more importantly, a proud mama to a middle-schooler.  In my spare time, I love to travel with my family, hike the outdoors, read YA literature, and write poetry.  

   I am thrilled to be in the classroom and solemnly swear to be the best book matchmaker that I can be.  I also promise to help you identify as a writer, if you don't already.
