EPSD Curriculum Update
The East Penn School District is in the process of a two-phase curriculum revision cycle for secondary mathematics courses in Algebra and beyond. The first phase of courses were presented and approved by the East Penn School Board. These courses, including Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Geometry, are aligned to PA Core Standards ensuring that students are taught all eligible content.
Phase 1
Courses presented and approved by the East Penn School Board include Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Applications of Algebra, Introduction to Probability and Statistics, and AP Precalculus. The approved curriculum went into effect starting in the 2023-2024 school year.
Phase 2
The second phase of courses to be proposed in October 2023 include revisions to Fundamentals of Algebra, Precalculus, Calculus, and Advanced Calculus Topics. Other new courses proposed include Math Foundations and Intermediate Algebra. These courses will go into effect starting in the 2024-2025 school year.
