Intervention & Enrichment (I&E) Time
I&E time is a time for additional instruction, intervention, extension, and enrichment that happens outside of core instruction. All students participate in I&E time. During this time, students receive data-driven support, reinforcement, or enrichment based on their individual needs.
Eyer and Lower Macungie's Math Standards class supports students’ academic needs in mathematics through research-based interventions and progress monitoring. During Math Standards, teachers are pre-teaching and re-teaching the skills students are learning in their core math course. Students also work on fact fluency.
Algebra Lab
Emmaus High School offers a lab that is provided for students in addition to Algebra 1. The Lab is offered in two parts - Part A and Part B. Both parts are 0.5 credits and count towards elective credits. The purpose of the lab is to provide students with more time and more practice for Algebra skills. In 2022-2023, Lab A is MP1 and Lab B is MP4. However, in 2023-2024, we will be running Lab A every other day for Semester 1 and Lab B every other day for Semester 2.
New for 2023-2024: Fundamentals of Algebra Lab
This lab will work the same way as the Algebra lab, but will be given to students who are placed in Fundamentals of Algebra.
Digital Programs for Additional Practice and Personalized Help
The EHS Math Department is currently taking steps to find a program that operates in a similar fashion to i-Ready. The goal is to find a program that can help students close gaps in their unique areas of need and also help with current math concepts being taught in class.
