Class Description
The reading seminar class is designed to improve proficiency in reading, writing, listening, speaking and thinking skills with a direct emphasis on reading strategies. Students will read fiction and non-fiction selections, novels, short stories, and technical writings. The curriculum includes reading based vocabulary and grammar, but is mainly literature centered. Preparation for the PSSA test is an integral part of our studies.

A primary goal of this course is to help students develop a greater appreciation of themselves as active readers and learners. Students will be able to use the learned reading strategies to increase their comprehension of written materials.
