Dear Parent(s)/Caretaker(s)/ & Grade Two Student:
Let’s have a positive year filled with learning, adventure, and some fun! In order to do so we must work as a team and keep lines of communication open.
Your child will receive a STUDENT, Home/School Folder for homework assignments (Monday through Thursday) as well as an Assignment Sheet in the Assignment Pocket of the Homework Pocket Folder on the first day of school. It is important that an adult check this folder & Assignment Page after completion of Homework, daily. DO NOT REMOVE ANY PAPERS OR MATERIALS FROM THE Return to School side! Please initial the Assignment Page DAILY!
Your child’s PTO Home School Pocket Folder will also have 2 Parent Pockets in the front which may include: notes from the teacher, classroom newsletters, lunch bills, order forms, and/or news about upcoming school events. Papers on the Return Side (RIGHT BACK) should be returned the next school day, unless specified by a due date. Tests, quizzes and any GRADED items DO NOT NEED TO BE SIGNED AND RETURNED. Please clean out the Keep Home Side Daily!
Please send an email to me from the email addresses before the first week of school so we can set up a Contact List for the school year. Be sure to include your name and child’s name in the subject. Information about Seesaw will be provided soon. Please be sure to enroll and set up your Family Account.
Snack/Lunch~ WE ARE NUT FREE. We encourage you to send a small portion of a healthy snack (i.e. carrots, veggies, yogurt, fresh cut-up fruit and pre-peeled, pretzels, cereal bars, sun chips, apples, pretzels, fruit snacks, crackers, cheese, dried fruit, dry cereal, raisins, bagels, raisins, breakfast bars, or granola bars, fruit mini muffins) in a bag or container separate from your child’s lunch. We do allow for students to bring water to school- but please no glass or metal containers and wide mouth top for refilling stations. All containers must be returned home daily. The Main Office provides information on LUNCH Cards to you. (Checks payable to East Penn Cafeteria Fund) Please keep up with your child’s balance. J
Special Birthday Treats~ ONLY nonfood items for Birthdays this school year individually wrapped. This is especially important due to food allergies and our state’s & district’s nutritional goals and Health and Safety Guidelines. Great treats for birthdays include, but are not limited to: fun pencils, highlighters, pencil grips, bookmarks, colored pencils, book markers, bubbles, erasers, small plastic items from Oriental Trading or stickers. We appreciate your cooperation and support with this decision. Please contact me via email or note regarding birthday treats several days in advance.
If you do not wish for your child to participate in certain holiday celebrations due to religious reasons, please specify in a note.
We know we are going to have one very fantastic school year! We look forward to meeting you and your child very soon! Enjoy the rest of your summer!
