EGSD Grading Policy:

• Primary Assessments (50%)

  • Important to Note: ALL primary assessments, including process pieces for writing, are expected to be completed without the assistance of parents or guardians or AI. This includes primary assessments that are posted on Google Classroom.

• Secondary Assessments (35%)

• Supplemental Assessments (15%)

A = 92 - 100

B = 83 - 91

C = 74 - 82

D =  65 - 73

F = 0 - 64

A Note on Plagiarism: ALL student work is expected to be their own, original words, thoughts, and content. The use of AI is strictly prohibited. A copy of the district’s plagiarism policy can be found on the district website under: BOE-School Board Policies-5701

6th Grade SUPPLY LIST

• One 1 1/2" binder: Math

• One 1 1/2" binder: ELA

• One 1/2" binder: Social Studies

• One 1/2" binder: Science

• 3 packages of dividers with tabs for subject binders: Math (5), ELA (5), S.S. (3), Science (3)

• 2 hard cover composition books: ELA (1) and Writing (1),*No Spirals, please!*

• 2 single subject spiral notebooks: Math (one to replenish)

• 1 heavy duty plastic 2 pocket folder

• Post - it notes

• Pencils (like 12 million of them....haha!) & Pencil Case (binder pencil cases work best)

• Erasers

• Highlighters

• Crayons / coloring utensils

• Pack of dry-erase markers

• Liquid glue

• Scissors

• 1 pair of earbuds to be used with Chromebooks for testing and instructional purposes.

  • A Note About Headphones: WIRED headphones are preferred, as Bluetooth headphones are not compatible with NJSLA-A testing platforms! These headphones will be kept at school for the year.

Note #1: Sixth grade desks are small.  Please avoid over-sized binders.  6th graders DO NOT need a HAB binder. 

Note #2: Please send in only what your child needs. All extra supplies can be kept at home and sent in on an “as needed” basis.

Note #3: Hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes are always appreciated at any time during the year....as is coffee! :)
