First, note that research shows that the therapeutic approach of a psychotherapist has little effect on the outcome of psychotherapy. Rather, it is the quality of the relationship between the client and psychotherapist that has been found to influence the resolution of the difficulties encountered by the client. That being said, my therapeutic approach is influenced by psychodynamic and attachment theory, cognitive-behavioural therapy, brief solution-focused therapy and mindfulness practice.
I was born in Ottawa and completed my studies at the University of Ottawa. After my bachelor's degree in psychology, I completed a bachelor's degree in education. I taught for a few years while completing my graduate studies. In 2014, I graduated in Counselling from the University of Ottawa. Once I received my counselling degree, I joined the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association in 2014 and the College of Registered Psychotherapist of Ontario in 2016.
I worked as a psychotherapist and counsellor in various non-profit organizations before starting a private practice. Besides offering services in private practice, I periodically teach at the University of Ottawa, supervise counselling students at St-Paul University and also offer supervision to new psychotherapists who are working on their certification.
