CULTURAL MAPPING AND MONITORING WITH GOOGLE EARTH AND OPEN DATA KIT

This site was created with the objective of supporting traditional communities to map and monitor their territories, through technology tools such as Google Earth and the Open Data Kit.

The training materials were developed for the use of Indigenous peoples, Quilombola communities and small Amazonian producers. These are the result of a long-term collaboration between Google Earth Outreach, the Amazon Conservation Team (Ecam) and several communities that have been involved in two trainings in 2015 and 2016. This initiative also currently includes partners Natura, Imaflora, the National Coordination of Articulation of Quilombola Rural Black Communities (Conaq) and has the financial support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID / Brazil).
