First Practice Thursday, August 22nd at 7AM meeting in the back gym.


  • Cross Country practice begins every morning at 7AM - 8AM during the season. We will meet in the back gym and then go outside together. We will not practice on the day of meets or the morning after meets. If you are interested in joining WRMS Cross Country please email Coach Rodriguez at

What To Wear?

  • Wear a pair of good fitting running shoes. For meets uniforms will be provided.


  • You will need your physical on file to participate with us. Without a physical you are unable to practice! Forms must be filled completely and make sure all signatures and dates are present.

How is a XC meet scored?

  • The first 5 runners to finish from a team have their finishing place added to create the team score. The 6th place runner on a team counts as a tie breaker and in a championship the 7th is the alternate. In a non-championship meet there are often more than 7 runners on a team and anyone can help their team standing by finishing in front of a runner from another team. Because of this reason, all runners on a team count and can contribute to a team's finish.

How long is a XC meet?

  • In middle school, most of the meets will be 2 miles or less.
