About Me

My name is Vanessa Castaneda, and I’m thrilled to be entering my seventh year of teaching at West Ridge Middle School! I was born and raised in Waco, TX, and earned my Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science from Texas State University. I had the privilege of completing my student teaching at West Ridge in the fall of 2018, and I’m so happy to continue my journey here. This year, I will be teaching 6th grade Tech Wheel, 7th & 8th grade Design & Technology, and coaching Boys & Girls Cross Country, 8th Grade Girls Volleyball, and Track. 

A few fun facts about me: My husband and I have been married for 4 years now. I love to travel. I am a huge fan of the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys. My favorite color is purple. I am a dog mom to a 10 year old Lab mix and a 3 year old German Shepherd.
