The West Ridge Band has a 36-year history of providing an exemplary instrumental music program to the students of the Eanes ISD community!​

Throughout its history, the West Ridge Band has been the recipient of consistent UIL Sweepstakes Awards, numerous individual Solo & Ensemble Awards, and Best in Class designations in spring music festivals throughout the state of Texas.  The band has also been named a finalist in the Texas State Honor Band Competition.  In addition, the West Ridge Band places many students in the District and Region Honor Bands and Orchestras each year.  

The West Ridge Wind Ensemble has twice been invited to perform for the Western International Band Clinic in Seattle, Washington, first in 2008 and then again in 2014.  In December of 2012, the Wind Ensemble was invited to perform for the prestigious Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago, Illinois. Most recently in 2018, the West Ridge Wind Ensemble was invited to perform for the National Concert Band Festival in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The West Ridge Band was also selected as the 2013 recipient of the John Phillip Sousa Foundation's Sudler Silver Cup.  The West Ridge Band is one of only fifty-six bands throughout the world to have been selected for this honor in the 30 year history of the award! Most recently the West Ridge Wind Ensemble was named a National Winner in the 2020 Mark of Excellence/ National Wind Band Honors Project. The Wind Ensemble was one of six bands in their classification to earn this national recognition! 

Our goal each year is to provide each of our students with a band experience that is so positive and so rewarding that they can't imagine not participating in the band again next year!  Each one of our students is important to the success of the entire group.  Every one of us - students, directors, and parents - are involved in this quest for excellence!
