Chinese 1

Chinese I ——— 中文一 is a beginning course for Chinese language and culture study. Students will use Chinese Pinyin system to learn how to combine the finals, initials, and tone marks to make proper Chinese spellings and sounds. Students will also learn Chinese character components, and grammatical structures. The focus of the Chinese Language I class is to guide students in developing their communicative competence in the four basic skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing, as well as gaining an understanding of Chinese culture. Through the course of Chines I, students will be able to connect with Chinese culture, start building a global mindset and love for foreign languages.
