Westlake Student Council is in the business of making a difference. Whether through a drive, project, or event, we are dedicated to improving our campus and community, while cultivating leadership skills in our members.
As a student-led organization, our focus is not just on bringing about meaningful change but also on cultivating leadership skills among our members. We provide opportunities for students to develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills that will empower them to become future leaders in their communities and beyond.
Westlake Student Council believes in creating an environment where every student feels valued and supported. We are deeply committed to inclusion, ensuring that all voices are heard, respected, and represented in the work we do. Our goal is to set the standard of excellence by leading with integrity, compassion, and creativity, always striving to uplift the school spirit and improve the overall experience for every Westlake student.
Together, we work toward a better future, one project, event, and act of kindness at a time.
At the start of each school year, Westlake High School students can join General Council by completing an application. To retain membership, GenCo members must meet point requirements and attend meetings.
In the spring, members in good standing can run for Class Office or apply for the Executive Board. Class Officer candidates must submit an application and obtain teacher recommendations. Available positions include President, Vice President, and Representative. Rising Seniors who have served on Executive Board can run for Student Body President and Vice President on a joint ticket. EB applications require a letter of intent and an interview. Senior Cabinet members must enroll in the Student Leadership class.
