Course Overview

Principles of Business will introduce you to business vocabulary, concepts, and issues currently changing the dynamic of our culture. The objective of the course is to help you establish a robust business vocabulary, promote critical and analytical thinking skills, and advance your decision-making skills. The competencies of this course will be acquired through interacting with course assigned reading, analyzing case studies, concept practice exercises, and both independent and collaborative projects.

Required Class Materials

● Charged iPad DAILY

● Access to Google Classroom, Google calendar, online textbook and school email

(student will be expected to use these tools independently)

● Willingness to work collaboratively with peers

● Positive attitude

● Strong work ethic

Google Classroom

Westlake High School utilizes the Google Classroom platform to share classroom resources, many assignments, and assessment preparation materials to students. WHS students will receive a classroom code to access these materials, submit assignments, and track any missing work.

Request a retest:

If you earned less than a 70% on an assessment, you can request a retest. Please know that the maximum that can be earned on the retest is 70%. All retest requests will require you to complete a Google form to request a retest (can be found on this site). You MUST meet with Coach Haddon to review the plan to relearn the material you did not master. Your plan will be shared with your parents. All retests must be completed before the end of the marking period in which it occurred.
