About Me

This is my 17th year at Westlake and my 21st year as an educator.  I am very lucky to serve as Department Chair and to work alongside the talented and dedicated teachers in the World Languages department.  I have taught almost all of the levels of Latin that we offer at Westlake, and I co-sponsor our active Latin Club.  

I am also excited to continue teaching English 4, making this my 5th year teaching Senior English.  English was one of my majors at UT Austin and the sole focus of my MA at the University of Virginia.  I love language and reading and all the fun things we get to do with seniors in their last year of high school English.

I enjoy using and learning about technology, and I intentionally blend different teaching and assessment styles for the benefit of my students. Sometimes work will be inquiry-driven, sometimes teacher-lead.  I try to model the kind of work ethic and willingness to try new things that I hope to see in my students. How can I ask something of students that I am not willing to try myself?
