Theatre III/IV
Course Overview
Theatre Arts III is a performance lab emphasizing ensemble work. Students will have the opportunity to explore and experience improvisational theatre, theatre history, theatrical design, audition and resume preparation, devised works, musical theatre, and children’s theatre by working “troupe style” and preparing productions to travel to other performance sites.
Theatre Arts IV is a continuation of Theatre Arts III’s performance lab emphasizing ensemble work. Students at this level will also take on directing roles within the troupe as approved by the instructor. Students at this level will also propose their own ensemble performance projects to be presented as part of the Westlake Theatre season.

Required Class Materials
A fully charged iPad(Every. Day.)
Sharpened pencils(We do a great deal of erasing.)
A few highlighters(Your choice of color.)
Lined notebook paper (and unlined, if you have it handy).
A positive attitude.
A willingness to try new things.
Other easy-to-acquire materials may be required for various projects throughout the year. Adequate notice will be given for these!
Google Classroom
Westlake High School utilizes the Google Classroom platform to share classroom resources, many assignments, and assessment preparation materials to students. WHS students will receive a classroom code to access these materials, submit assignments, and track any missing work.
