About Me

After graduating with a degree in biochemistry from the University of Texas, Denise DeMartino worked for the Texas Department of Health as an analytical chemist for 2 years.  She became certified as a chemistry teacher and since then has had much success with students involved in the AP program. She began working at Westlake High School in 1998 and this is her 28th year as a chemistry teacher. Currently, she teaches AP and Organic Chemistry and serves as Science Department Chair.  Ms DeMartino, affectionately know by her students as "DeMo", has been a consultant for the College Board for 18 years doing numerous 1 day, 2-day, and summer institute presentations across the country.  In addition, she acts as an AP Exam Question Leader, spending her summer actually grading the AP Chem Exams, and is also contracted by ETS as an outside item writer of AP exam questions. 

And if you haven't figured it out by now, she LOVES the San Antonio Spurs!  Go Spurs Go!!!! 

She's also a champion to all things music and horror!
