Course Overview

Topics studied in Algebra II include:

· Solving linear and absolute value equations and inequalities

· Graphing linear equations and functions

· Solving systems of equations and inequalities using algebraic and matrix methods

· Graphing quadratic functions; solving quadratic equations and inequalities

· Graphing polynomial functions; solving polynomial equations

· Writing inverse functions; graphing and solving radical equations and inequalities

· Graphing exponential and logarithmic functions; solving exponential and logarithmic equations

· Graphing rational functions; solving rational equations

· Investigating arithmetic and geometric sequences and series

Required Class Materials

Boxes of Tissues for the classroom (please 🙏🏻).
Writing utensils – pencil is preferred.
3-Ring binder or folder to keep notes/homework in. Students also can keep notes digitally.
iPad charged daily.
Graphing Calculator!!! – TI 84 will be used almost daily in class on assignments, and assessments.
- The calculator’s memory will be cleared for all tests and quizzes.
- Students may check out a calculator from the library for the year if needed. (Form required)

Google Classroom

Westlake High School utilizes the Google Classroom platform to share classroom resources, many assignments, and assessment preparation materials with students. WHS students will receive a classroom code to access these materials and submit assignments. Parents are welcome to join the Google Classroom to see what their student sees. Just send me an email for an invite link or ask your student to invite you.
