You must check your email frequently as communication is a vital skill.
Email me with your questions, but first be sure to check Google Classroom for the answer.
Bathroom and Water Breaks
Keep bathroom and water breaks to a minimum
Sign out at the door before you go and take the bathroom pass with you.
Return in a timely manner.
Cell Phone Use
School wide policy = no phones out from 8:35am to 4:00pm. If I see it, it will be given to the grade level AP and you will have to retrieve it at the end of the school day.
Attendance
You are expected to be on time.
You are expected to be engaged.
Late Work Policy
It is expected that students will turn in homework on the due date. You will receive a 0 in the grade book until that assignment is turned in. You will not receive full credit for the assignment if you turn it in late unless you were absent.
Students are responsible for emailing the teacher directly to inform them of missing assignments that have been turned in.
Missed Work Policy
Due to the hands-on and project-based nature of this class, many assignments require special tools, equipment, and materials that are only available in the classroom (such as sewing machines, kitchen appliances, or design supplies). Because of this, most missed work cannot be completed at home unless students have access to the necessary tools and materials.
To support student success, I offer several opportunities for making up work at school: Wednesdays at 8am, before/ after school by appointment, and during Wildcat Time.
Mastery of Work Policy
All assignments are able to be redone/reworked until the student is proud of their grade and end result. My goal is for them to leave this class confident in their ability in these very important life skills.
Getting Help
Sometimes you may get stuck while working on an assignment for this class - please ask for help! These are difficult skills to learn, but they will be so helpful to you as you grow into adulthood. Persevere!
AI in the Classroom
Eanes ISD supports the thoughtful and responsible use of AI tools to enhance teaching and learning. In this class, approved AI tools may be used to support instruction, provide practice opportunities, and offer feedback. Students will be clearly informed when AI use is allowed on an assignment. All AI use must follow district policies, including protecting personal information and using only district-approved tools.
Academic Dishonesty
Academic dishonesty, or cheating, violates the honor code. Consequences for academic dishonesty include a new assignment to complete, the office and your parents being notified and possibly additional consequences.
Academic Dishonesty, or cheating, includes but is not limited to
Falsifying someone else’s work as your own.
Looking at another person’s quiz or test.
Using unapproved resources.
Even if you get away with cheating - which if you are any good most of the time you will - there is at least one person that will always know you cheated. You.
