What is MAPS?
MAPS is a one semester course offered to 7th and 8th grade students focusing on the skills necessary for students to be successful. Executive functioning skills include: time management, goal setting, organizational skills, study skills/habits, attitude, resilience, and character education.

Classroom Rules
RESPECT - Each other, yourself, property (yours, mine, and others'), classroom environment, collaboration & shared thoughts (yours, mine, and others').
THINK - Your words have power! Before you speak THINK - Is it true?, Is it helpful?, Is it inspiring?, Is it necessary?, Is it kind?
Grading
Class Participation – 100%
Students will earn weekly grades based on improving their executive functioning skills through assignments and weekly grade checks.
What to Bring to Class Every Day?

Homework for all classes
Book - if you are up to date on all work.
A planner is suggested to keep up with due dates and test dates
Skyward
Check it every day to keep up with your grades!
Google Classroom
Check it every day for assignments!
Turn in your assignments on time!
Check your email often!
Communication with your teachers about tests and assignments is so important!
Bathroom and Water Breaks
Keep bathroom and water breaks to a minimum
Return in a timely manner - not more than 3 minutes
Cell Phone Use
School wide policy = no phones out from 8:35am to 4:00pm. If I see it, it will be given to the grade level AP and you will have to retrieve it at the end of the school day.
Attendance
You are expected to be on time.
You are expected to be engaged.
Getting Help
Sometimes you may get stuck while working on an assignment - please ask for help! I am always happy to assist students with their work. Even though I may not currently teach that subject, I might be able to help - or assist with requesting help from their teacher.
