Course Overview

Seventh grade ELA incorporates elements of language and writing skills, reading comprehension, and college readiness standards. The course is designed to help students master state mandated objectives and to prepare students for success in high school and beyond.

Class Calendar

Required Materials/Class Supplies

1. iPad & Charger

Fully charged or on charger.

2. Independent Reading Book

Probably the most important item on this list. Please have your child come to class with a book of their choice for independent silent reading (ISR).

3. Composition Notebook

Brand does not matter, but the notebook must be bound instead of spiral.

4. Binder or Folder

Can be combined with other subject areas. Just a place to store papers.

5. Highlighters, Pencils, Pens

Flare pens are preferable for making noticings in my class.

6. Loose-Leaf Notebook Paper

7. Sticky Notes

8. Glue Stick and Scissors

9. Earbuds for iPad

Especially if your child uses Learning Ally for books.

10. The Google Suite

Google Classroom, Drive, Docs, Slides, Sheets, etc.
