Hi! My name is Melanie Kate Yeager. I teach Modified Language Arts and provide reading intervention services. I absolutely love being part of the Barton Creek community. I feel so lucky to teach, learn from, and grow alongside the most incredible students. 

I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Applied Learning and Development and a specialization in Special Education. This Fall, I'll be pursuing my Master's in Special Education with a focus on Dyslexia and Dyscalculia Intervention. Hook 'Em!

I'm certified to teach Special Education, General Education, and English as a Second Language. Additionally, I am trained to provide reading intervention services through Reading by Design. In 2022, I received the EANESpiration Award for Educational Impact.

Originally, I am from Houston, Texas. I lived there my entire life before moving to Austin to attend UT. Outside of school, I love spending quality time with friends and family, exploring new restaurants, and going to UT football games.

Every student possesses unique strengths and abilities, and I'm excited to help them discover those for themselves and bring them to life in our Language Arts class.
