I grew up in Austin, graduated from Crockett High School in 1982 (Always Victorious!) and graduated from the University of Texas (Hook 'em!) in 1987.  This will be my 36th year of teaching.

I have taught Latin and History in Waco, San Antonio, and Austin. I started at Westlake HS in 1999. I taught at both Westlake and Hill Country from 2006-2013. This year, I have classes at Westlake, Hill Country, and for the first time, West Ridge!

I celebrated my 30th wedding anniversary this year. I have four wonderful human children and several more-or-less wonderful non-human children including one cat, two dogs, three chickens, a couple thousand bees, and a whole lot of fish.

Three quotes by the great philosophers Vergil, Caesar, and Ricky Bobby sum up the philosophy of this class: "Perge modo (Just keep going)", "Insta (Press on)", and "Ego volo ire quam celerrime (I wanna go fast)!"
