How is this food wasted?
At EAC, students and staff are responsible for food waste. During lunch, we are the ones that prepare our own plate. We are expected to only get the amount of food that we will eat and avoid waste. However, that is not what most people do.
A person at EAC wastes on average 65g of food per day. Despite of how small this number seems to be, it is in fact a huge amount of waste.
Every year, a person at EAC wastes 12kg of food.
All of this waste comes from the food on our plates that we don’t eat simply because we got more food than necessary.
