Diogen Babuc is a teaching assistant in the Department of Computer Science at the West University of Timișoara (UVT) and a PhD student at the Doctoral School of Computer Science at the UVT. Babuc is also a poet, prose writer, and graduate computer scientist. He was the valedictorian in the Bioinformatics master's program at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science of the West University of Timișoara. 

Babuc has published two books in Serbian (Kartagina, Skladište), a translation from Romanian to Serbian (Autoput A4 i druge pesme by Linda Maria Baros), and several scientific and literary works in English, Romanian, and Serbian. He has published an authentic algorithm called Latin Djokovic. He won the award for the best presentation at the International Conference on Knowledge Security in Istanbul. He participated in the European Congress of Endocrinology and the European Summit of Informatics. UVT has published his web application named "XAIBOT: a trilingual, erudite, and intelligent chatbot." He participated in the National Bioinformatics Conference (RoBioinfo) held in Bucharest. He attended the Smart Diaspora conference, the most renowned multidisciplinary conference in Romania in the previous year, in the Artificial Intelligence sector. Other scientific compositions can be found on platforms such as Google Scholar or ResearchGate.

Babuc received the EurAI travel award/grant from ESSAI & ACAI and the European Association for AI (June 2024), for his bibliographical and ideological contributions to AI. He participated at the biggest world's bioinformatics conference, RECOMB, in 2024, at the poster session.

Between 2019 and 2022, he participated in national and international programming contests. Among the numerous official university competitions he participated in, the largest is the Southeast European Regional Competition (SEERC), organized by ACM-ICPC in 2020/2021 and 2022. At this competition, in 2022, he ranked eighth by the number of solved problems.

He participated and was awarded several times at the music competition Tinerețea cântă (first time in 2017). He enjoys being on stage, playing the piano, and composing music. He composed and performed the piece Șuetă mitică de dragoste at the Tinerețea cântă festival in 2023. He has appeared in five different editions of this festival.

Babuc had an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the fastest recitation of a song's lyrics in Portuguese (December 2023). He enjoys playing touch tennis (participated in several pro-am tournaments) and researching data from the world of sports, as well as regional geography.
