Pinch Pot Whistles
Project Objectives
1. Develop a design for a "creature" sculpture, using clay, that will also function as a whistle or ocarina. (Creating)
2. Create and manipulate the clay by starting the form with pinch pots. Add clay to create more interesting and recognizable forms and texture using some of the demonstrated sculpture techniques. (Creating)
3. Apply glaze to the bisque fired pieces and complete the set through the entire process, while also documenting the creative process from workable clay to glaze ware. (Creating, Producing/Presenting, Connecting)
4. Verbally, discuss criteria for a good artwork, give evidence of how and why your artwork meets that criteria, judge your own work. (Producing/Presenting, Reflecting, Connecting)
5. Be productive and work independently without undue oversight. Take care to keep painting and art supplies in good condition, returning them at the end of the project, ready for the next artist to use.(21st Century - Employability)
