One thing that I have learned so far while doing this art piece is drawing eyes. I used to not ever be able to draw eyes. I try to ask people what they see too, because sometimes I have just looked at it for to long to be able to see a mistake. I am still working on getting the shading look smooth and not ruff and blotchy. I tend to lay my drawing up against something and step back to see if I can see any of my mistakes or things I need to change. Overall I need to keep working on my shading and values of everything.
Overall I think that this piece is going to be challenging due to me not ever doing stippling. I am going to learn a lot during this project, just like I did my last project. For this project I wasn't to sure if I wanted to do it due to me never doing something like this. Some of my hopes for this class is for me to actually learn how to do stuff this year rather than me trying to teach myself.
This piece has been challenging, I feel that it has to be very detailed and overall just how I want it to look. I feel that it will be very challenging and overall help me as an artist. I think it will further my drawing skills as well. With me now working on two different project I feel that that will help because I wont be as overwhelmed because I get to back and forth.
I am working on this piece at home. I am just starting this project and have never done a colored pencil drawing. So I don't know how much outline I needed, so I just keep doing more and more but I think I will start to use colored pencils tomorrow.
I am really liking doing this project, I am currently working on the ear of the dog. The way I know that my piece is finished is when I am fully satisfied with what it looks like. I try to do everything to the fullest that I can I don’t try to leave stuff out especially if it is something that will mean something important.
I am doing a drawing/medium that I have never done before. I decided on my own that I am going to watercolor it, and then outline everything in thin point sharpie.
I have never even done anything on the potter's wheel so the whole entire thing is a new technique
I am starting to actually be able to create something by this new technique I am learning how to do
I messed up at first, but then I just made it look cool
2.17.21This was my first actual okay looking cup that I did by myself
2.12.21I made this to put a succulent in on my nightstand
2.17.21I made this bowl because I eat cereal all the time whether it's for breakfast lunch or dinner, I feel like I am actually starting to learn how to use the wheel, I started this without knowing anything about it, and I feel that I have started to actually understand how to do it

I am very happy with how this turned out, I love the abstract colors and the overall look of the bowl. I didn't really know what design I was going to put on the bowl but I'm happy with what I chose.

What makes a person a successful artist?
I work really hard in what I want it to look like at the end
What is valued most?
I believe it has to be that you truly like your piece and that it doesn't
matter what others think because it is what you like and that all that matters.
Can someone be highly skilled not be “successful? Explain.
yes, because they could be able to do something it just wouldn't
be meaningful and would be pointless of them to do it
Can someone be considered a successful artist but lacks skill? Explain.
yes, because they have tried to do something as well as they could and if
they like it then that is all that matters
