Social Work is the ART of Listening and the SCIENCE of HOPE

Jacqualine Pierce, LMSW

Social Worker West Point Elementary

I would like to take a moment to introduce myself. I am Jacqualine Pierce, the Social Worker here at West Point Elementary. I am a part of a new district program designed to work with students, families, and staff by facilitating social and emotional learning (SEL) in order to help the students achieve their greatest academic potential and success.

Before I joined the Wildcat family, I worked as a trauma therapist providing individual, family and group therapy. I became a school social worker because I believed that every student needed an equity cheerleader! I define equity as, putting systems in place so that EVERYONE has the opportunity to access proper support for success.

I will have many opportunities to interact with your child(ren) in multiple settings as the program gets up and running. I want your child to be as successful as possible at school. As you know, success in school is not just about reading and math. It is also about knowing how to learn and how to get along with others. Additionally, I will be working to get families connected with resources from our community partners. If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me!
