Our Class

Class Procedures:

• Bell work (BW): Every class starts with bell work. Students are expected to solve bell work on the board for participation at least once a week. This is not just busy work! I use this time to review concepts that students have already been taught because practicing is the only way to improve. BW quizzes are given at the end of the week and students can use their bell work paper for help.
• Homework: Homework will be given nearly every night. Points are only given for work shown. If you do not show work, you will not get credit.
• Absent: When you are absent, please collect any assignments from the crate on the counter. The folders are labeled by day of the month. You have a week to complete and submit absent work.
• Late work: If you do not complete an assignment to turn in at the start of class when it is due, you can turn it in prior to the end of the next unit. There is a 30% penalty for late homework and classwork. Late projects are accepted for a 30% penalty the first week, 50% penalty for weeks 2-4, and not accepted beyond 4 weeks from the original due date.
• Restroom: Please do not leave for the restroom unless it is an emergency. Students need to use the time between classes for restroom use. No students are allowed to leave class in the first or last 10 minutes per school policy.
• Supplies: When you forget your pencil, run out of paper, or need an eraser, please get it from me at the start of class.
• Finished work early: Work on your homework, extra credit menu, or brain trainers. Nobody has the right impede the learning of others, please respect that during independent time.
